info on ceiling fan installation in house built prior to 1940?
My husband and I are trying to install a ceiling fan, but the ceiling mount does not fit into the holes, they are too short. Is there some kind of adaptor I can buy or some kind of anchor I can use in order to install the fan without ripping the plaster out and putting a whole new housing in. The house is old so nothing is standard size in here. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Will the box support the weight of the fan? I you aren't sure get an electrician. Most ceiling boxes are not rated to carry that much weight.
