Celing Fan Installation - Wires Available Don't Match Directions?

Hi,

I have a 2 year old home and bought a Hunter celing fan to install in a spare bedroom.

It is for a single switch, directions as follows:

1. The bare or green ground wire from the celing to the green ground wire from the cerling plate and the green ground wire from the fan.
2. The white wire from the ceiling to the white wire from the fan.
3. the black wire from the celing to the black and the black/white wire from the fan.

The problem is:

1. I do NOT have a green or bare ground wire coming from the celing. I have black, orange, yellow and gray wires.
2. I do NOT have a white wire coming from the ceiling. I have black, orange, yellow and gray wires.
3. This one I think I am ok with - use the black wires from the ceiling with the black and black/white wires from the fan.

I am definitely no electrician but thought this would be a fairly simple task. Any help would be great.

You have to figure out which wire is which.
Hot, common, ground...
And, where they're coming from and where they're going.
Just because a wire is black,
doesn't automatically mean it's the hot wire...

Was there a light fixture there to begin with?
You should have been able to find the hot, common, and ground from that.
(The fourth wire is probably for a separate switch for the lights)
