Let's Talk Tropical Ceiling Fans
Want something that can fit both your gritty game room and elegant dining hall? Try tropical ceiling fans. These fans are a fun way to bring all the exotic and tropical of nature into your room.
At the cute and fun end of the spectrum is the Tropical Bounty 42" ceiling fan. This particular fan boast blades that features bright pink tropical flower patterns against a black background. For even more fun, add the Hawaiian Floral Shirt Tiki Tropical fan light pull. This combination is perfect for a sun room or anyone who desires to have a luau setting. Imagine a summer party with this fan swirling above. What a great conversation starter!
Other blades feature illustrations of seashells, palm trees, parrots and fish - all very lighthearted and casual. What if you need something just a bit more traditional? The Hunter Seascape is just the one that will please you. Even though this is no doubt a tropical fan, it does not scream for attention but is rather subtle in style. Its dark metal and plastic palm leaf blades would easily blend in to your existing décor, while still lending itself to the mystique of tropical shores.
Trying her hand at a modern tropical fan, Fanimation introduces the Treventi Pewter Finish Amalfi. The Amalfi consists of three sleek palm leaf blades attached to a simple pewter motor housing. The clean lines and bold styling make this tropical style fan an easy fixture to integrate into even the most modern of homes.
The Hunter Caribbean Breeze utilizes woven rattan and wicker to radiate the tropical feel. Weathered bronze and a frosted glass light acts as a complimenting contrast to the large blades while at the same time adding a classic vintage look to the overall feel.
Moving further up the collection, there's the Louvre Three Light Tropical by Fanimation. This particular fan boast a stained glass light fixture, black motor housing and pretty golden brown blades that looks like long palm leaves. While casual, this fan still looks upscale enough to be included in more high-end designs.
Finally, at the top of the line, we find another entry from Fanimation. The Caruso is a dual fan with oval palm shaped blades and oil rubbed bronze mounting posts. This sophisticated fan includes a remote control for ease of operation at the push of a button.
From lovable to elegant designs, it's no surprise why tropical ceiling fans have garnered a big following. They are available in an array of designs, styles and prices that anyone can bring the tropical bug home!

wiring for ceiling fan/light 3-way switch with separate switch for fan AND a remote control?
have a Hunter fan/light with remote control. Room is wired with 3 switches. On one wall, there are two switches - presumably one for light/one for fan. Other wall has one switch. Inside ceiling box are many connections - there are three black wires that come out of the box (one is black/white striped). The fan has only a black, white and ground coming from the remote unit.
No matter what I do, the wall switches will not turn on the light or the light will come on when the power is turned on but then short when a switch is flicked. The fan and light both work using the remote...
using a voltmeter isolate all wires in j-box @ceiling identify incoming hot, identify feed to switches, you may need to use the ohm meter to identify switch legs ,once you identify each conductor, mark it you should be able to properly terminate the wires with this knowledge, you seem competent enough just be careful and be sure to turn off breaker before breaking the joints you can turn it back on to check for incoming power.use wire nuts to cap wires so you dont accidently contact and cause a short while you identify circuits.
