What is going on with my ceiling light/fan remote?

I have a Hunter ceiling fan with three speeds and a light. The light has two bulbs. Today I turned on the light, and one bulb blew out. Since then, the remote has been unable to turn the light off and on. The remote is working fine on the fan. The switch can turn the light off and on. When I try to turn the light on with the remote, the red lcd light on the remote flashes, as if it was working, but it does not work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your time.
I did the battery thing, that did not help. But thanks for the suggestion.

take the batteries out of the remote and wait a minute and put them back in
