Ceiling fan question.?

I'm thinking about what kind of fan to purchase. I want an indoor fan for my bedroom (clearly indoor) and a question was brought up. I've heard that ceiling fans with palm blades are really poor with cooling as opposed to regular fan blades. Which do you prefer from experience? Also, if anyone has any reviews of the Harbor Breeze Bellhaven fan or the Baja fan, please let me know. Also, are those two fans really heavy or do they hang down to low on an 8 ft ceiling with the lights attached on both types (I know the Baja comes with and adaptable light kit)? Are they both good for hot summer weather as in 80+ degrees? Thanks for your help!
This is for a location with little to no rain and high summer temperatures as in 80+ inside this bedroom during the day without the A/C on.

I installed a Harbor Breeze in the bedroom on an eight foot ceiling and it does fine with a light kit below it. I did not use the extended pole as I wanted it up as high as possible. If you already have a light fixture in the center of the room on the ceiling there should not be too big of a problem. Buy the fan that comes with the reversible switch so that you can push the air down from the ceiling or pull the air up from the floor. The old tried and true blades are all I have ever used. I may be just a little old fashioned. My fan has been used a lot for probably ten years and it still does fine.
I have no idea where you are but a fan in the window that will increase air circulation from outside is good in warmer climates. Mount the fan on the sunny side of the house in the afternoon and especially if you can pull air in with the fan from a shady side of the house. Talk with an experienced sales person for recommendations in your area.
